Wheat...West coast cash wheat markets reflected what continues to be a
20 cent roller coaster performance across the futures complex. Spot bids
on Tuesday showed prices holding near week ago levels, with white wheat
basis slightly stronger and all markets showing bid structures flat into
the June delivery slot. Winter wheat crops across the Pacific Northwest
have benefited from recent moisture and moderate temperatures.
Shipments...Weekly export inspections showed a relatively good week
for wheat movement off U.S. ports, coming in at 16.8 million bushels to
put the current year tally at 732 million, which is 18% ahead of a year
ago. Hard red winter shipped 5.3 million bushels, hard red spring was at
3.2 million and white wheat moved 1.4 million. West coast export activity
showed 4.5 million bushels of wheat loaded out, going to The Philippines,
Taiwan and Japan. Nearly 18 million bushels of corn and nearly 10 million
bushels were also shipped off the PNW.
